Dr. Jessica Jacobson is a Nebraska native, triple board-certified cosmetic surgeon, and founder of Jacobson Cosmetic Surgery in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Raised in Lincoln, Dr. Jacobson graduated from Lincoln East High School before attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Psychology.
She went on to attend Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where she earned both her medical degree and a Master of Arts in Bioethics. Her graduate work included a thesis on the ethical considerations surrounding facial transplantation, as well as an additional year of fellowship training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
But surgery, and particularly the anatomy of the face and neck, was where she found her fit.
From Head & Neck Surgery to Cosmetic Surgery
Dr. Jacobson completed her residency training in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery through Kansas City University–Freeman Health Systems in Joplin, Missouri. This highly specialized surgical training immersed her in the intricate anatomy of the head and neck, with significant experience in complex facial and neck surgery, head and neck cancer, reconstruction, and facial plastic surgery.
It was this anatomy, and the precision required to operate within it, that first made her fall in love with surgery. The face and neck contain some of the body’s most complex and delicate anatomy, where function, structure, symmetry, and appearance are closely intertwined. Learning to understand that anatomy in depth became the foundation of the surgeon she would ultimately become.
Cosmetic surgery felt like a natural next step.
After completing residency in one of medicine’s most competitive surgical subspecialties, Dr. Jacobson wanted to take that foundation in anatomy, surgical technique, and reconstruction and add another layer: the artistry and aesthetic judgment required in cosmetic surgery.
Following residency, she was selected for an additional year of fellowship training in facial and full-body cosmetic surgery with nationally recognized cosmetic and facial plastic surgeon Dr. J. Kevin Duplechain in Lafayette, Louisiana, through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Unlike residency training, where cosmetic procedures are one part of a much broader surgical education, this fellowship year was dedicated exclusively to cosmetic surgery. During the fellowship, her training focused solely on aesthetic procedures of the face, breast, and body, with rigorous hands-on surgical experience and direct mentorship in the operating room.
That dedicated year allowed her to build on an already extensive surgical foundation while developing comprehensive experience in facial rejuvenation, breast surgery, body contouring, liposuction, and other cosmetic surgical procedures.
It also brought together the two parts of surgery that ultimately shaped Dr. Jacobson’s approach: a deep understanding of anatomy and surgical technique, paired with the artistic eye to understand proportion, balance, and what makes a result look natural.
After years of surgical training, and a final year devoted entirely to cosmetic surgery, there was one place she wanted to build her practice:
Home.
Coming Home to Nebraska
Dr. Jacobson returned to Lincoln and opened Jacobson Cosmetic Surgery in 2022, becoming Lincoln’s first female cosmetic surgeon.
For her, opening JCS was about more than starting a surgical practice. It was an opportunity to build the kind of practice she would personally want to walk into as a patient: highly trained and surgical, but also warm, approachable, and personal.
Today, Dr. Jacobson remains the sole surgeon at JCS.
She personally meets with her surgical patients, develops their operative plans, performs their procedures, and stays involved throughout their recovery. By taking a personal approach to every case, she gets to know each patient and their goals, not just the procedure they’re considering.
Her practice includes cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, as well as surgeon-led injectables and non-surgical aesthetic treatments.

Outside the Operating Room
Lincoln isn’t simply where Dr. Jacobson practices. It’s home.
She grew up here, her family is here, and returning to Nebraska after training simply made sense.
Outside of JCS, Dr. Jacobson spends much of her time with her husband, Adam, family and friends—and her very full house of four-legged family members. She is an unapologetic animal lover, gardener, antique hunter, and supporter of Lincoln’s local small-business community.
Those who follow JCS on social media also know she doesn’t separate her personality entirely from her profession. She believes patients should know the person they are trusting with their care, and that expertise doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical.

Jacobson Cosmetic Surgery is intentionally a small practice. As the owner and sole surgeon, Dr. Jacobson is personally involved in every step of her surgical patients’ care—from the first consultation and surgical planning through the procedure itself and recovery.
That continuity is important to us. You should know who is caring for you, who to call when you have a question, and who is following your recovery after you leave the operating room.
Our all-female team is small on purpose, too. We know our patients. We know where they are in the process, what procedure they had, and what comes next. You are never expected to navigate surgery or recovery on your own.
For longer surgical procedures, that care can extend beyond the walls of the office. Dr. Jacobson personally checks on patients recovering in the Lincoln area that evening—because surgery may happen in a day, but our responsibility to you does not end when you go home.
We want JCS to feel highly specialized without feeling impersonal: expert surgical care, a team you actually know, and a surgeon who remains your surgeon from beginning to end.
