A “Mommy Makeover” is a combination of different procedures designed to restore the look of a woman’s body to its pre-pregnancy state. The procedures commonly combined include an abdominal and breast procedure, whether it be tummy tuck, breast augmentation with lift (if necessary) and/or body sculpting. The first and simplest way to address loose skin after pregnancy is through a tummy tuck. In addition to removing the skin and stretch marks during the abdominoplasty, Dr. Jacobson may tighten, if necessary, the abdominal muscles (diastasis recti repair) if they have been weakened by your pregnancy.

Who is a good candidate?

Non-smokers
Individuals 25-65 years old in generally good health without conditions that impair wound healing
Individuals bothered by the appearance of their abdomen
Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations

Downtime

Mommy makeover patients can expect 10-14 days of downtime.

Recovery

Recovery for a “mommy makeover” will be largely dependent on the type(s) of surgery that you have. In general, you can expect to have varying degrees of swelling, which will improve over the first weeks- months after surgery as your body heals. You will receive a compression garment to wear for a few weeks following surgery, which helps to minimize swelling and encourage optimal skin contraction. Additionally, Dr. Jacobson will provide specific instructions on activity restrictions after surgery, which ensure that the tissues heal appropriately to give you the best results.

What is included in my post-operative care?

Our Mommy Makeover package is customized to your needs, and includes a compression garment, post-operative massage by a medical massage therapist, and in-office radiofrequency treatments to help expedite healing and give you the best possible outcome. We provide concierge pre-and post-operative care with a home visit on the same day as your surgery & a scheduled next-day post-op appointment. We are with you every step of the way.
