Reduce Excess Skin and Fat From the Upper Legs

Also known as thighplasty, a thigh lift reduces excess skin and fat, providing a smoother, firmer appearance to the upper legs. The skin of the thigh is much thinner and more unforgiving than other areas of the body, and can shows signs of laxity after fluctuations in weight. There are many variations of a thigh lift, and Dr. Jacobson offers a medial/inner thigh lift which incorporates a shorter scar incision hidden within the groin, often combined with liposuction to provide the best results.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Non-smokers
  • Individuals 18-65+ years old in generally good health without conditions that impair wound healing
  • Individuals who desire aesthetic enhancement to remove loose skin or crepiness in thighs
  • Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations

Downtime

You can expect to have 14 days of downtime.

Recovery

You can expect swelling, bruising, tightness and some pain after your procedure. You will have compression garments that will need to be worn for a minimum of 6-8 weeks. It is important to walk slightly “stooped over” (bent at the hips) for 7 – 10 days to release tension on the suture lines. Eventually you will notice you can stand straighter each day. By day 10, you should be able to walk straight up. We strongly encourage 14 days of downtime to recover. You will have lifting restrictions for 6 weeks.
