Enhance the Shape of Your Breasts with Your Own Tissue

Fat transfer or fat grafting is a procedure that utilizes a patient’s own tissue (fat) to enhance the shape of the breasts. Fat is harvested via liposuction from another part of the body such as the abdomen, flanks or thighs and is injected into the breasts. This can create a subtle enhancement with added fullness to the breasts. This is ideal for patients who are undergoing a liposuction procedure and wish to enhance the fullness of their breasts without breast augmentation (implants). Fat transfer can also be combined with a breast augmentation procedure to further enhance certain areas of fullness such as medial cleavage or the upper pole of the breasts. Fat is a living tissue and fat grafting requires the transferred fat to survive in order to maintain results. Most patients can expect approximately 60% of the fat harvested to survive and therefore, it is not a replacement for a traditional breast augmentation. It is best suited for patients looking for a subtle change or to further enhance an augmentation.
