Gentle Nose Shaping & Aesthetic

Rhinoplasty, or “Nose Reshaping” improves the size, shape, and symmetry of the nose, bringing it into better proportion to the rest of the face. Rhinoplasty is a truly artistic, highly individualized surgery. Delicate refinements can affect significant change. By reshaping the nasal structures, including bone, cartilage and skin, a skilled, qualified cosmetic surgeon will explain to you what is possible and help you achieve a nose that looks natural with your unique features.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Non-smokers
  • Individuals 18-65+ years old in generally good health
  • Individuals who desire nasal reshaping or improvement in nasal breathing/function
  • Individuals with realistic expectations. (Rhinoplasty can help you improve upon your existing nose, but it cannot deliver “perfection,” nor can it give you the nose of someone else.)

Recovery

Most patients feel ready to return to work or school after 1 or 2 weeks, depending on the level of activity required. Bandages and external cast are typically removed at 7 days postoperatively. The most important thing to know about rhinoplasty recovery is: the swell is REAL. Swelling is a very normal part of the rhinoplasty healing process. Trust the process! We have many tips and tricks to help minimize swelling and guide you in your recovery process.

In general, there are basically two forms of swelling after rhinoplasty. First, there is swelling caused by the trauma of the surgical experience; this swelling will be immediate, and simply shows the inflammation caused by the surgical procedure. This type of swelling is typically accompanied by some mild bruising. There is also swelling that occurs due to fluid retention under the skin of the nose. This type of swelling may take a few months to completely resolve, though the extent of the swelling will gradually taper off.

Your rhinoplasty results will continue to develop over the first few weeks to months after surgery. At the 3-month mark, about 60% of the swelling will be resolved. The remainder of the swelling will continue to improve over the next several months. Some areas, such as the tip, may not show results until 8 months out. Final results can take up to a year or longer to be achieved.
